Had my mechanic (Alfred Holzer) up at Schooner Bay give it a once over and decided it will be best to replace it with a refurbed Yanmar.
Mark and I (with the help of 2 friends) removed the diesel in October and brought it up to Alfred Holzer (renowned diesel mech.) at Schooner Bay, Wisconsin.

Alfred and his crew (Eric, Mike, and Mike2) have put together an 18hp Yanmar. They are in the process of building the tranny and will paint it before installing.

Engine covers were in tough shape and the foam insulation held old diesel odors.  Rebuilt most of the edges, filled holes, added glass in areas that were weak, faired the outside and ready for paint.

Picts on left have 2 coats of roll and tip of Signature Finish boat paint.  After a light sanding and 1 final coat, you can see the final results below.
